We are doing an Islamic simulation in Social Studies Class. We earn Dirhams (a form of arabic money) to make a pilgrimage to Mecca. Every 10 Dirhams we earn in class we move one step!
Okay. Today in Class, we had what is called a “Caravan Day” when we earn money to move closer to Mecca, and we have quiz cards (if we get an answer right we get 5 dirham) We also earn Wisdom cards, but I will explain those later.
The five most Important things I’ve learned:
Arab means “lacking of moisture”
Early Astronomers created many different instruments
Hey! You know that song that i posted? Well here is the video. It is REALLY weird guys but it is a great song. I have one more thing to say, don’t be immature and laugh when they say gay! It’s just a word.
This is an awesome song about not judging other people and trying to fit in. It is by a band called prozzak. We are reading a book called A Wrinkle in Time in LA. We were studying about people who don’t fit in. I think this fits that.
“Be As”
Julie wants to get out of town
She needs to settle down
Move to a place where no one knows her
Lisa just had to get away
Nothing could make her stay
Tired of living under cover
Everybody knows somebody trying to get free
Be as white as you want to
Be as black as you want to
Be as brown as you want to
Don’t let anybody stop you
Be as straight as you want to
Be as gay as you want to
You can wait if you want to
We all need something to hold on to
And if there is a way that you and I could both be free
Have a little understanding and we will be
Daniel moved to another school
Alliances can be cruel
When you’re alone without nobody
Michael begged Jen to take a stand
And fight for the love they had
But she’d rather deal with being lonely
Everybody’s got somebody telling them what to be
[Chorus]
And if there is a way that you and I could both be free
Have a little understanding and we will be
Na na na na na na…
And if there is a way that you and I could both be free
Have a little understanding and we will be
[Chorus]
Be as shy as you want to
Be as loud as you want to
Be as small as you want to
Don’t let anybody stop you
Be as thin as you want to
Be as fat as you want to
Be as short as you want to
We all need someone to hold on to
Hey guys sorry about that. I meant to post the words to the story! Okay, I wrote this story for language arts class. It is a sci fi fantasy version of Week Without Walls. Which is a trip the middle schoolers in make in my school each year.

We were sitting in our seats in the stuffy uncomfortable plane. A robotic voice came on the intercom, it said, “Please remain calm.” The airplane turned into a crazy transformer type thingy and flew off to some distant planet. When we got there the whole planet seemed…cold, as if all the warmth had left this planet alone. Then I noticed that everything was artificial. There was no real life on this planet. They separated us into groups and made us sleep on hard uncomfortable beds. The next day the creepy robots put three groups together. My group got stuck with one of the guy groups and they sang loud and out of tune. They tortured us by forcing us to swim in sub- zero temperatures with electric eels and piranha’s. One day when we were using our bathroom break we spotted something in the distance. I figured out it was a spaceship so we yelled and screamed and it must of noticed us because it started heading to the planet when it landed we ran toward it and asked the man inside it if he could help us escape from the planet. He said, “Yes, I can help you but I can only take you three groups.” We agreed and asked if he’d come back for the rest of the people. He said he could but not right away because he needed to refuel and prepare for a fight against the monsters. The man put our three groups in the ship and we flew off. He brought us home and when we got back our parents asked us how the trip was. We looked at each other and laughed. We got together and thought of what to say. After a while all of us decided to make up a tale of excitement, involving rafting, walking in the wadi, snorkeling, and other things. When we got back to school it seemed that everyone had forgotten this tale of adventure. I figure the government changed the memories of them so it seemed like they had fun. Our 3 groups decided it would be best not to tell anyone about this story until the public was ready. Whenever I saw the people in my groups I remember this story with clarity. I decide to go to the government and tell them this story. I walk to the senate and open the door and, “AHHHHHHHHH”<
I want this blog to be a place I can be myself. I want to be able to express myself in anyway I find fit. I hope to have many posts that are for class and for my own and other’s enjoyment!
In June I want to see me in the posts. I want to look back and see all my assignments. I want to learn new things about computers and other technology. I can’t wait to look back at everything!
